Daniel Barbara, MA
Academic Specialist
With over 20 years of experience in education — including his current role as an Assistant Principal in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District — Danny brings an exceptional level of insight, leadership, and expertise to South Bay Educational Therapy.
Daniel holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from California State University, Long Beach, and has served both as a Special Education Teacher and as a school administrator overseeing hundreds of students, faculty, and academic programs. His experience as an Assistant Principal gives him a comprehensive understanding of how schools operate — from curriculum standards, executive functioning demands, academic pacing, and the implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans.
For families, this means Daniel doesn’t just understand individual learning needs — he understands the broader educational system your child is navigating.
Daniel works closely with our leadership team in shaping and strengthening our programs, parent support services, while also administering direct one-to-one interventions with students to support and strengthen reading comprehension, written expression, executive functioning, and evidence-based study strategies.
With his support, families receive more than individualized academic support — they gain an experienced leader in education who understands how to guide students confidently within today’s school systems.
