Alicia Baillie, ED.D

Academic Specialist

Alicia brings more than 20 years of experience in education and holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, a Master of Science in Secondary Education and Secondary Curriculum, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district-level leader.

Prior to joining South Bay Educational Therapy, Alicia served as Principal of Orange County Academy of Science and Art, where she helped lead significant growth in enrollment, expanded student programming, implemented career pathways, and developed innovative systems to support student success. She has also held district leadership roles in assessment, research, and evaluation, where she worked closely with schools to strengthen academic outcomes, build intervention systems, and use data to drive meaningful progress.

For families, Alicia’s experience means far more than academic support alone. She has a deep understanding of the increasing demands students face in today’s schools, including executive functioning, structured literacy, study skills, academic pressure, and self-advocacy. She understands not only how to support students one-to-one, but also how to navigate the larger school systems, expectations, and structures that often impact a child’s success.

With Alicia’s support, families receive more than individualized academic interventions — they gain a highly experienced educational leader who not only understands how students learn, but also how schools operate.
